"I may wish to be free from torture, but if the time comes for me to endure it, I'll wish to bear it courageously with bravery and honor. Wouldn't I prefer not to fall into war? But if war does befall me, I'll wish to carry nobly the wounds, starvation, and other necessities of war. Neither am I so crazy as to desire illness, but if I must suffer illness, I'll wish to do nothing rash or dishonorable. The point is not to wish for these adversities, but for the virtue that makes adversities bearable."
— Seneca, Moral Letters
So today's meditation is very interesting, when we think about it in a trading sense.
We don't want to have to face difficulties when trading, but it is inevitable that we will have challenges now and again when trades are going against us. We can't afford to be surprised by what we are witnessing during a trade and we have to be ready to expect the unexpected and react swiftly and without hesitation to protect our bank, if a trade is going against us.
We must be fully focused and ready to go, every time that we enter a trade and we can't switch off until we have taken our targeted green or cut short a potential losing trade, to a manageable controlled red.
I love the last few words of today's meditation. We need to be; "in the right head space, ready to go."
Being fully focused with the correct trading mindset, we are able to react instantly when challenges appear, by trading what we are seeing and not what we want or expect to see!
Being prepared for these challenges means we are "ready and at home."
