"Take a good hard look at people's ruling principle, especially of the wise, what they run away from and what they seek out."
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
This is definitely something that all traders regardless of the level that they are at, should take on board.
I am forever grateful and learned so much from a guy called Steve Howe. The things that I learnt from Steve, I use every day that I trade. Correct entry points due to finding positions of safety (POS) are an integral part of my day to day trading, amongst many other things, such as lateral thinking etc.
Steve has retired from trading these days, due to poor health, but he was my "go to" person to emulate and a perfect example of how I was "watching the wise".
Finding yourself a trading buddy is another great way to help you on your trading journey, I have found. I am sure that two of our pro traders @Mark and @James, would be the first to agree that they have learnt so much off each other. My trading buddy is @Mark Cooper and it is great to share and run through ideas together. After all two heads can be much better than one!
Like the last sentence of today's meditation says; "Pick someone, watch what they do (and what they don't do) and do your best to do the same."
Doing this made a massive difference in my trading journey/progression and it could do the same for you by "watching the wise". Food for thought maybe?
