"You have been formed of three parts — body, breath, and mind. Of these, the first two are yours insofar as they are only in your care. The third alone is truly yours."
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
Today's meditation is also very true when it comes to trading! We must ensure that we are in the correct mindset to be in the absolute best position to be able to trade efficiently and to execute and manage our trades to the best of our ability. Looking after our mind is vital, so we need down time to remain fresh and ready to respond to each trade as required. The last thing you want to do is overtrade! Your mind needs rest and recovery. "Less is more," is a good way to look at this.
If we are not "in the zone" we may not be as responsive to reacting quickly enough if a trade is going against us. Try keeping your mind in it's best possible place. Take a walk to clear your mind before you start trading for the day. Try some peaceful meditation. There is a phrase that I often use and I have mentioned it a few times in my daily journals. "Peaceful mind, peaceful life." If your mind is at peace and you nurture a peaceful life, then your trading will be at peace and it will most definitely improve. If you are "in the zone" with zero distractions and concentrating solely on finding potential trades that fully meet the rules/criteria for your strategies, then you are in a great place to be able to execute and manage your trades to their completion.
As it says in the last line of today's meditation and I quote; "Our mind is ours--free and clear. Let's make sure we treat it right."
